If you’re a long-time reader of this blog, you probably know that its original name was starschips.blogspot.com. Sound cheesy huh? You should know that the name has nothing to do with Nicki Minaj’s songs. Nope. The blog was born before that song came out. Trust me.
In the early days of the blog era, I wrote random things ranging from gardening activities in my boarding house, trips with the girls, stories about my cats, poetry (OMG, did I say powwtriiii?), tales of young love, and also the heartbreak follows HAHA. You know I’ve had many adventures since this blog was created, but why I didn’t write is truly a mystery that I regret.
Later, my friend inspired me to buy a domain and use the name justinlarissa.com (thanks Pak Totok!). For a few years, people know me I have a self-titled blog. It was an efficient personal branding strategy, but I didn’t find it as modish as many travel bloggers use dashing names for their branding.
I was thinking although this blog is written from the first-person perspective, I felt it was important to involve Pak Oyong in every breath of the blog’s story. Finally, after much contemplation, I chose A Plate for Two as the new brand, and I feel that the name is very representative.
The name A Plate for Two (Sepiring Berdua) derives from our eating habits at home and wherever we go. We’re accustomed to sharing a plate, tasting each other’s food, and often opting for a shared meal for the sake of reducing dishwashing chores. Based on this philosophy, we’ve named our blog intending to share what we enjoy with our readers. Well I hope you find it an interesting history lesson.
